echoing silence

law of attraction & prosperity gospel

law of attraction/new thought teaches you this 3 tenets: ask-believe-recieve.

someone i know suggested to me a nat geo
movie called “the secret”. (i havent seen it yet, still downloading).
she mentioned it has something to do with the “law of attracton”. at
first i thought this has something to do with physics or gravity and
magnetism. i have even had the impression she wants to talk about the
heart thingy.(smirk)but she said it was “the secret” of “scientists”.
so i did some little consultations with mr. web & mr. wiki. and
then i emailed her this….

dina-download ko secret movie.. for curiosity’s sake. nakita ko na
pala book nyan back then sa national bookstore, kulay brown ang cover
na may wax seal. i had a feeling of rejection first time i browsed the

objectivism is based on tangible (thru our 5 senses) facts. ang “law of
attraction” is based on “percieved facts”. (medyo nagresearch ako ng
konte). (ED-percieved fact was mine based on my impression of it)

law of attraction/new thought teaches you this 3 tenets: ask-believe-recieve.

sinasabi ng law of attraction (correct me if i am wrong. this is just
me) any physical matter could materialize if you think about it,
constantly dwell on thinking that it would eventually happen, that it
is already there waiting for you to make it happen… then it will
happen.

but to claim that i already have a “perceived” car waiting for me and
that i will have it in a moth by just thinking about it, attracts that
perceived car out in the cosmos and eventually lands in front of me…
this to me is ridiculous.

it is different, in an objectivist perspective, when you actually
“know” the fact (thru validation of your 5 senses) that you don’t have
a car. but if you have the motivation, planning and a targeted
financial analysis with proper resources, you can have the notion to
claim that you “might” just have a car next month.

right now, there is nothing there to attract. zip. zero. nothing. (what
you must attract are clients and projects to provide you income to
accomplish your goal of having a car next month.. but not the car
itself)

however, i would agree to their claim that “you are what you think”.
your thinking eventually leads you to be who you are. you become the
embodiment of the things you think of. in a sense, the “reality”
happened because you think about it religiously.

nung mabasa ko yung tenets ng law of attraction (ask-believe-recieve)
nakita ko yung parallelism nito sa isang christian teaching… the
prosperity gospel.

some of the most prominent prosperity gospel preachers are Mike Velarde
& the founder of the Jesus Miracle Crusade (forgot his name), etc.

my former bible college (faith works bible college - extension college
from hillsong, australia) teaches prosperity the christian way. they
don’t want to actually name it prosperity gospel since they say it
should not replace the main gospel. but just the same, we talked about
how to get rich all thru out the course.

anyway, parehas na parehas ang turo ng prosperity gospel sa law of attraction. (now makes me wonder who copied from who)

prosperity gospel says something like this…
since you have accepted jesus as your personal savior you are now a
legitimate heir to god’s kingdom. you become an actual son/daughter of
god by the blood of the christ on the cross. and since you are a legit
child you deserve the right to receive all the riches that “heaven”
has, and you have the right to have whatever it is, including material
wealth, right here right now!. all you have to have is ….faith. just
claim in your heart that it is already there in heaven, pray and
believe that you will have it, and you will have it! (with certain
conditions. hmmm) they even suggested that when you ask for something
ask for it specifically. like if you want a car next month, ask for a
toyota altis or a nissan coupe -in jesus name.

“you do not have because you do not ask.” (famous bible verse, hundreds others)

i can write more about prosperity gospel but i would just bore you if ive already not.

law of attraction… prosperity gospel…. ask-believe-receive…. =simply irrational

sorry po.

the talk about “saving the environment” is becoming more of a fad rather than really caring about the environment and using it’s resources properly to the benefit of the whole human race.
